Don't leave Griswold Pond without first going for a hike along the Washington Trail; get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Salmon River. This lake is so wonderful. Griswold Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Little City Campground is a good local campground, and Griswold Pond is close to Haddam Meadows State Park which is a delightful location. This lake is so wonderful. Some nearby water includes Burr Brook, and the top of Long Hill

| | is easily seen from Griswold Pond. Griswold Pond gets much water; throughout May this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Griswold Pond is not far at all from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford. Good hiking is available along the West Woods Trail, and golf can be played at Hillside Links Golf Course. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Powder Ridge is near Griswold Pond; you can go for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail. | |

There's so much to do here at Griswold Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wolf's Den Family Campground is a pleasant place for that, and if you need a spot to stay Waters Edge Resort and Spa is a splendid choice. Yeah, come
here to Griswold Pond for a nice time. Lakes? Sure, Lampes Pond is in the vicinity; swamps don’t sound that fine but Cedar Swamp close to Griswold Pond is relatively fine. There are other locations here than Griswold Pond, for example
Pattaconk Reservoir; dry warm beds await you at A Victorian Village Inn. Throughout the days of summer here at Griswold Pond, high temperatures generally get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Griswold Pond. So many fun things to do here at Griswold Pond, too great to be true. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hammonasset River, and Pattaconk Reservoir Dam is not far at all from Griswold Pond.
