Hit the slopes at Ski Sundown around here; Stratton Brook State Park is a lovely spot any time of year. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Blandford. At Great Pond all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Great Pond nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 0's.

| | A pleasant place for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Great Pond is Farmington River, and if you need a place to stay Simsbury 1820 House is a brilliant choice. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. is a good location to get some rest. Take some time to pop by Great Pond State Forest since you're here, and golf can be played at Simsbury Farms Golf Course. Great Pond is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rainfall; through
the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. Great Pond is not the only place close by, Spring Pond is a close by lake; why not camp at Golden Acres Campground since
you're here at Great Pond. Man, is there a lot of amusing things to do in close proximity to Great Pond. Going for a hike along the County Road Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and why not go to Great Pond
Dam since you're here. Southwick Acres Campground is a pleasant local campground, and hey, Grimes Brook is a tremendous local stream. This lake is so wonderful. The Barndoor Hills is one of the things that make Great Pond so wonderful,
and here at Great Pond you can observe Barndoor Hills. While you're here at Great Pond you can take a hike along the Link Trail, and Farmington River - Collinsville is a great whitewater spot nearby.
