     There are plenty of people from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown here at Grays Pond, also Grays Pond Dam is worth checking out since you're here. All through the summer months, highs generally are in the 80's at Grays Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Grays Pond are in the 10's. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Grays Pond has it all. Near Grays Pond you  
   come across a golf course called Pound Ridge Golf Club, and it's a good idea to visit Grays Pond Brook.
Grays Pond is a wet location that gets a good deal of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is January. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Grays Pond, you could also stop at striking Mianus Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors Cos Cob Inn is a good place to spend a night
 
               or two. Camp Kiwi is a perfect local campground, and needless to say, A tour to Mianus Gorge is always fun.
You'll come across a lovely lake called Mianus Reservoir near Grays Pond; dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn and Suites Armonk. This lake is so wonderful. Float down the rapids of Norwalk River in a kayak; if you came for an overnight stay Soundview Sports is a good location to camp. Thunder Ridge is a very popular ski area close at hand, and Seth Low Pierrepont State Park Reserve is worth visiting.

...ck in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a cottage or two..and a cool as heck dirt road..I went to A...

Do you have any pictures of camp henry?  My father went there in the 1920's.  The land was sold a while ago and now has a housing development on it....Lillian Wald had a camp on secor lake .Camp Henry.i am fortune enough to have been born on the block where Lillian started the henry street settlement. I am a 49yr who spent 10 summers of my life on lake secor 67-76..Actually I live in the settlement for 3 1/2 yrs. Amazing!...
