All the water falling down from the sky makes Gravel Pond a wet location; August is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and Heritage Hotel is a perfect place to get some rest. High temperatures                  at Gravel Pond during the summer months are in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Gravel Pond. Why not visit Gravel Pond Dam since you're here, and as expected Spruce Brook is a charming stream that is worth a visit. Go for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River; dry warm beds await you at Crowne Plaza Hotel SOUTHBURY. This lake is so wonderful. A journey to Kettletown State Park invigorates the spirit, and camping at Cozy Hills Campground is always a great experience. Gravel Pond truly is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise.
