There's whitewater on Farmington River - Collinsville for all you adrenaline kick people. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Grannis Pond has to offer, you can camp at Gentile's Camp Ground. Take a side spree to Cussgutter Brook. Lakes? Sure, Florians Pond is close by. This lake is so wonderful. Near Grannis Pond you stumble on the Quinnipiac Trail which is a good hiking trail, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Pine Valley Golf Course. The high

| | level of rain makes Grannis Pond a rather wet site; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Southington if you're here; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Compounce Lake. Black Rock State Park is a wonderful place for that, and if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Tunxis Trail. What a site this is for outdoors people. If you need a place to stay Residence Inn Southington is
a great choice; get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Farmington River - Riverton. Dry warm beds await you at Clarion Hotel Bristol. All through the summer months highs here at Grannis Pond reach the 70's. During the
moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Grannis Pond fall into the 10's. The Mattatuck Trail is a great
hiking trail in close proximity to Grannis Pond, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Ski Sundown. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the vicinity of Grannis Pond. The peak of Compounce Mountain can
be distinguished from Grannis Pond, and lots of folks from New Haven-Milford come here. Sleeping Giant State Park is a perfect place, and New Britain Reservoir Dike is delightful.
