Beaver Dam Brook is near Gorton Pond and is always a diversion to go to; The Bar is another good place to check out close by. This lake is so wonderful. Bush Pond is a pleasant lake close to Gorton Pond, and camping is available at Rocky Neck State Park. At Gorton Pond through the summer months highs are in the 80's; the overnight is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Gorton

During your tour to Gorton Pond you'll meet some folks from Norwich-New London for sure. The trees of Indian Woods are a splendid source of shade on hot summer days, and a trip to nearby Black Point is very relaxing. type of mood. Man, is there a heap of entertaining things to do close to Gorton Pond. Lakes are such calm sites, why not explore Little Dodge Pond in the vicinity of Gorton Pond; Walnut Hill Country Club is a delightful golf course
nearby. You unquestionably have to check out Rocky Neck State Park while you're here at Gorton Pond, and on a perfect day it's a delightful idea to spend the day at Attawan Beach. Why not camp at Camp Niantic By The Atlantic since
you're here at Gorton Pond; there's always Gorton Pond Dam to go to next to Gorton Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn Niantic, and Mount Ararat is stunning and can be seen from here. All the water
falling down from the sky makes Gorton Pond a wet site; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is February.

 | 12 miles away I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow.... |
Hidden Acres Family Campground
 | 17 miles away I took my two sons here for a week this summer and it was awesome!! We went in the middle of the summer and the weather was pretty good.? We had a couple good rainstorms at night but it always cleared up for the day.? My kids loved swimming in the pool and the river.? The river was so warm and if you went out to the big rocks the water was rough and felt like a hot tub!!? My sons (7 and 4&1/2)had a blast riding their scooters all over the campgrounds with the other kids.? They spent most of their time trying to catch frogs and tadpoles and playing at the playground.? We went to the ceramic shop and painted a keepsake for home.? We will definately be going back next year.? My kids want to go for two weeks this time but we will see.... |
