This is a perfect vicinity for people who like lakes. Shepaug Reservoir is a lake in the neighborhood, and you can stay the night at Cozy Hills Campground. This lake is so wonderful. A spree to Litchfield Town Beach close to Goose Pond is always a wonderful idea. There's so much to do here at Goose Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds is a great location       for that. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great globe it would be. Mohawk Mountain has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff, and if you need a location to stay Homestead Inn is a good choice. Near Goose Pond you find the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Upper Shepaug Reservoir is just a very short distance away. This lake is                  so wonderful. Mt. Tom State Park is a wonderful location to stretch your legs a bit, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Blue Swamp is right nearby. The high level of rain makes Goose Pond a reasonably wet place; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. At Goose Pond you always meet someone from Torrington, and paddling on Bantam River is so much fun. Stonybrook Golf Course is a golf course near Goose Pond, and you have to without doubt visit striking Morris Town Beach if you're here. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Goose Pond get into the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Goose Pond are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Goose Pond, you could go to East Branch Shepaug River. You can take a little journey to Goose Pond Dam while you're here at Goose Pond; Woodbury is a very popular ski area nearby.
