What a nice lake Goose Pond is. Good hiking is available along the Mattatuck Trail, and some of the water close by flows, like East Branch Shepaug River. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Shepaug River, and if you want to hit the beach, Morris Town Beach is around here. The high level of precipitation makes Goose Pond a pretty wet place; during the month of August you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest. campground nearby. You simply must have a thing about Goose Pond. There are swamps here too; Blue Swamp is in the neighborhood, and the friendly people of Torrington like to hang out nearby. Stay the night at Looking Glass Hill
Campgrounds. Lakes are good; Milton Pond is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Goose Pond. The skiing at Mohawk Mountain is perfect; a spree to Litchfield Town Beach is always a delightful idea. This lake is so wonderful. After
a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a brilliant site to spend a night or two, and when you're here it's always fun to visit Mt. Tom State Park. There's good hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and since you're
here you can play some golf at Stonybrook Golf Course. The warmest time of the year at Goose Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's; the nighttime is a little cooler of course, generally in the 50's. Through the winter this
place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Goose Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Goose Pond Dam is worth visiting since you're here.
