Goodwin Pond is close to Rainbow Dam which is a wonderful place certainly worth a visit, and camping at Southwick Acres Campground is always a nice experience. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Farmington River, and if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Metacomet Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Ski Sundown and strap some skis to your feet, and there are some great whitewater spots on Roaring Brook River. A lake close by is Bloomfield Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Hampton Inn Hartford-Airport, Ct is a nice choice.
