Best Western New England Inn & Suites is a great spot to get some rest, and going for a hike on the Washington Trail is always a good adventure. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing things near Gills Pond. The slopes of Mount Southington are so inviting noone can resist; there are perfect sites to look at along the Metacomet Trail. always a splendid experience. You can take a little tour to Silver Lake Dam while you're here at Gills Pond; if the weather is lovely, you obtain a magnificent panorama of Lamentation Mountain from Gills Pond. High temperatures
at Gills Pond through the warm months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; overnight lows through the winter for Gills Pond tend
to be in the 10's. Swede Pond is a great lake near Gills Pond, and if you're stopping by from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, you won't be the only one. Belcher Brook is right next door to Gills Pond and is always a joy
to pop by, and there is a tremendous hiking trail nearby called the Mattabesset Trail. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. A beautiful lake like Silver Lake near Gills Pond is a great spot to go to, and get yourself into a kayak
and hit Roaring Brook River. Enjoy a round of golf at Pistol Creek Golf Club not far from Gills Pond, and going to Wadsworth Falls State Park is a great thing to do.
