Gillette Reservoir is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Valley In The Pines Campground is a magnificent local campground, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail. During the long summer days highs here at Gillette Reservoir get into the 80's. Summer night lows descend down to the 50's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Gillette Reservoir

| | temperatures drop to the 0's. Lakes? Sure, Hoover Pond is in close proximity; there's always North Pond Dam to visit in the neighborhood of Gillette Reservoir. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Dry warm beds await you at Blackberry River Inn; on a nice day you can take a hike along the Elbow Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Sandy Brook River is so much fun, and if you need a place to stay Tollgate Hill Inn is a glorious choice. | |

You absolutely have to like Gillette Reservoir. The skiing at Ski Sundown is nice. There's so much to do here at Gillette Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative is a delightful
spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Mohawk Mountain is just what you need; since you're here you can take a hike along the Wild Cat Trail. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always
check out nearby North Pond; a glorious place like Dennis Hill State Park is too brilliant to leave out. During your visit to Gillette Reservoir you'll meet some people from Torrington for sure, and on a beautiful day you obtain a
glorious sight of Beech Hill from Gillette Reservoir. Get wet paddling on Bantam River; there are swamps here too, Wildcat Swamp is nearby. Gillette Reservoir gets a good deal of water; during August this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
