A great close by hotel is Blackberry River Inn, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Wild Cat Trail. So many amusing things near Ghilds Pond, simply impressive. Take a hike on the Elbow Trail, and since you're here you can play some golf at Quarry View Golf Course. After a long day outdoors Tollgate Hill Inn is a great site to spend a night or two, and a visit here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Dennis Hill State Park. Head up to Ski

| | Butternut and strap some skis to your feet. Yep, outdoors enjoyable stuff to do are in fact bountiful here at Ghilds Pond. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Mohawk Mountain, and hiking along the Mattatuck Trail is tremendous fun. Summertime highs at Ghilds Pond usually tend to be in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. at Ghilds Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. You're perhaps into lakes, Bigelow Pond is one of those close by; if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater
paddling on Housatonic River. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Ghilds Pond has to offer, you can camp at Valley In The Pines Campground, and Sandy Brook River has a great whitewater
paddling spot nearby. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Great Bear Swamp is right nearby; there are plenty of folks from Torrington here at Ghilds Pond. Lakes are great; Tobey Pond is a lake that's close to Ghilds Pond, and there's
some flowing water nearby, Norfolk Brook is a stream you can have a look at while you're here. Ghilds Pond is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Lone Oak Camp Sites is a delightful place to camp nearby, and not
far from Ghilds Pond you obtain some fine water scenery at Bigelow Pond Dam. Ghilds Pond typically gets a large amount of rain; all through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February.
