Gaylord Pond is always a pleasure to visit. And that's not all you can do here at Gaylord Pond. Swamps don’t sound that fine but Indian Meadow right next door to Gaylord Pond is quite fine, and there's a forest here called Algonquin State Forest. At Gaylord Pond during the summer highs are in the 80's, and the night is somewhat colder of course, typically in the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 30's with temperatures at Gaylord Pond dipping

| | down into the 0's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Gaylord Pond is right by the County Road Trail, and tremendous skiing awaits you at Ski Sundown. Paddling on Sandy Brook River is so much fun, and the Mattatuck Trail offers hiking at its best. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and Burr Pond State Park is a good place to pop by on a wonderful day. - Torrington, and why not take a little journey to Sandy Brook if you're here. There are plenty of folks from Torrington here at Gaylord Pond; do explore Colebrook River Lake, it's a beautiful lake. There's no such thing as a
bad day of skiing at nearby Otis Ridge, and Still River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Gaylord Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Austin Hawes Campground is a tremendous local campground, and Gaylord
Pond Dam is beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. At Gaylord Pond you can spot Spencer Hill, and do take a hike on the Richard Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff
the area right next door to Gaylord Pond has to offer. There's so much to do here at Gaylord Pond that you need to camp here for a while, White Pines Campground is a glorious site for that, and while you're here, you could also explore
beautiful Highland Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Gaylord Pond a reasonably wet place; August is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
