Gates Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Don't leave Gates Pond without going to Stoddard Hill State Park, and Gates Pond is not the only place close by, Hallville Pond is a close by lake. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like River Ridge Golf Course, and if you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Natchaug River. | | fine fun, Strawberry Park Resort Campground is a fine local campground, and don't miss out on a splendid swamp; Cedar Swamp is right here at Gates Pond.
No need to travel far to check out out of the ordinary stuff like Spicer Ledge; Norwich Inn & Spa is a nice spot to get some rest. the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Narragansett Trail is always a perfect adventure; after a long day outdoors Mohegan Sun is a nice site to spend a night or two.
Whitewater paddling is good on
Quinebaug River, and at Gates Pond you always meet someone from Norwich-New London. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can have a look at Hallville Pond Dam, and Hubbardston State Forest is worth going to. Life's too short
to enjoy all the fun things close to Gates Pond. If you came for an overnight stay Hidden Acres Family Campground is a magnificent site to camp, and here at Gates Pond you can catch a glimpse of Campbell Hill.
What a spot this
is for outdoors folks. Crowley Brook is a good location to have a look at. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at Gates Pond reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Gates Pond.
