If you are in New London county it's always a good idea to stop by Gates Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Norwich Inn & Spa; Stoddard Hill State Park is a great place to explore on a delightful day. Natchaug River has a good whitewater paddling spot close by, and why not a little side trip to Crowley Brook. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is great here at Gates Pond, you can go for a hike along the Narragansett Trail; you simply have to stop at Spicer Ledge while you're here at Gates Pond. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things
