    Lake Garda is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Swamps like Scott Swamp close to Lake Garda make for fine places to explore, and some of the water close by flows, like Hawley Brook. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Farmington River - Riverton, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Garda is a magnificent  
   location to visit for more than one day, Gentile's Camp Ground is a magnificent location to camp nearby, and the trees of Farmington Memorial Town Forest are a great source of shade on hot summer days.
This lake is so wonderful. Going to Stratton Brook State Park right next door to Lake Garda is a perfect thing to do; hiking along the Tunxis Trail is glorious fun. Lake Garda sees pretty high levels of rain; throughout August this area sees the most rain while
 
               February is usually the driest month. Summer at Lake Garda arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Lake Garda.
Nearby lakes? Sure, Monce Pond is right next door to Lake Garda; you get a glorious vista of Mine Mountain from here. Playing golf is lots of fun at Tunxis Plantation Country Club, and American Legion State Forest is a pleasant local campground. Man, is there heaps of cool things to do near Lake Garda. Mount Southington is a delightful local ski area, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Metacomet Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from New Haven-Milford come to Lake Garda. If you need a spot to stay Centennial Inn Suites is a good choice; the slopes of Ski Sundown are so inviting nobody can resist. There's whitewater on Farmington River - Collinsville for all you thrill seekers, and after a long day outdoors Clarion Hotel Bristol is a great site to spend a night or two.
