     Glide down the rapids of Farmington River - Collinsville in a kayak; you can stay the night at Southwick Acres Campground. Just can't get enough of Gale Pond. Talcott Mountain State Park is a great place to check out on a pretty day; why not explore Gale Pond Dam while you're here. All through the summertime months at Gale Pond temperatures are usually in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's  
   with temperatures at Gale Pond dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Wintonbury Hills Golf Course is in close proximity, and dry warm beds await you at Simsbury Inn.
Don't leave Gale Pond without first going for a hike along the Metacomet Trail; Cold Spring Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could stop by. So many exciting things to do at Gale Pond, so little time.
 
               Gale Pond is a good site to visit for more than one day, Golden Acres Campground is a good site to camp nearby; there's great hiking along the Mattabesset Trail. What would winter be without some skiing at Ski Sundown, and Grant Hill is clearly visible from Gale Pond.
What would a site like Gale Pond be without out of the ordinary nearby highlights like The Pinnacle, and since you're here, you could also explore charming Lake Louise. Gale Pond is a pretty wet place commonly with a large amount of rain; most of the rain falls during May while February is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Mount Southington while you're here.
Get drenched paddling on Farmington River, and if you're visiting from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Hop Brook, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Gale Pond; Tunxis Trail is a splendid local trail. If you need a place to stay Simsbury 1820 House is a brilliant choice, and close by Horseshoe Cove is a wonderful place to go.
