     Here at Fosters Pond you can observe Booth Hill, and Howells Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at. Good hiking is available along the County Road Trail. A large amount of rain falls at Fosters Pond; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most; January meanwhile is the driest month. Fosters Pond is close to Fosters Pond Dam which is a beautiful spot without doubt worth visiting; there's  
   a forest here called Tunxis State Forest.
Drift down the rapids of Farmington River in a kayak. Lakes? Sure, Fosters Pond is in the vicinity. Through the summer here at Fosters Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Fosters Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. You'll never forgive
 
               yourself if you don’t go skiing at Blandford if you're here, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn & Suites.
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Fosters Pond has to offer, you can camp at American Legion State Forest; there's perfect hiking along the Richard Trail. A trip to Tolland State Forest rejuvenates the spirit, and if you come at the right time of year, Hubbard River offers some glorious whitewater. Any time is a glorious time at Fosters Pond if you adore the outdoors. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Fosters Pond; Link Trail is a good local trail; lots of people from Torrington come here.
This place is peerless, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do near Fosters Pond. Stay the night at Austin Hawes Campground, and if you need a site to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a pleasant choice. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Fosters Pond, for example Trout Pond; wonderful scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Ski Sundown.
