All the water falling down from the sky makes Fivemile Pond a wet place; through the month of November you get the most rain around here while February is ordinarily the driest month. Do go to Whetstone Brook Reservoir right next door to Fivemile Pond, it's a beautiful lake, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Border Trail.       This lake is so wonderful. An exciting thing to stop at near Fivemile Pond is Fivemile Pond Dam; if you need a place to stay Comfort Inn & Suites Dayville is a wonderful choice. Don't miss out on a spree to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor since you're here at Fivemile Pond, and of course, everyone loves Mashamoquet Brook State Park. Summertime highs at Fivemile Pond frequently tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures                  sink down into the 50's.
