In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Farmington River - Riverton, and Farmington River Reservoir is not the only site close by, Farmington River Reservoir is a close by lake. Near Farmington River Reservoir you come across                  the Mattatuck Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and it's a great idea to visit Bradley Brook. There is a delightful hiking trail in the vicinity of Farmington River Reservoir called the Metacomet Trail, and since you're here and you like golf, you can explore Simsbury Farms Golf Course. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Farmington River Reservoir. A visit to Zwick Point in close proximity to Farmington River Reservoir is always a fine idea. There's so much to do here at Farmington River Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Austin Hawes Campground is a glorious location for that. This lake is so wonderful. Collins Company Lower Dam is a spot that is next to Farmington River Reservoir; hey, Gotta ski right? Ski Sundown is a brilliant location to do that. The Tunxis Trail is a great hiking trail next to Farmington River Reservoir, and here at Farmington River Reservoir you can see Barnes Hill. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things at Farmington River Reservoir. What would winter be without some skiing at Mount Southington, and if you've had enough of Farmington River Reservoir, Unionville Upper Reservoir is nearby. Farmington River - Collinsville is a great whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Farmington River Reservoir. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Farmington River Reservoir while night lows are generally in the 50's.
