Ski Sundown has nice slopes and a friendly staff; Collins Company Lower Dam has great water scenery. Barnes Hill is lovely and can be made out from Farmington River Reservoir. Farmington River - Collinsville has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and if you need a place to stay Clarion Hotel Bristol is a perfect       choice. Lots of rainfall falls at Farmington River Reservoir; all through June this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. A good spot to camp here at Farmington River Reservoir is Austin Hawes Campground, and paddling on Farmington River - Riverton is so much fun. Hit the slopes at Mount Southington around here, and stopping by Stratton Brook State Park is a nice thing to do.                  This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Tunxis Trail; dry warm beds await you at Residence Inn Hartford Avon. High temperatures at Farmington River Reservoir through the summer months are in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Farmington River Reservoir. Any time is a great time at Farmington River Reservoir if you go for the outdoors. Going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and camping at American Legion State Forest is always a great experience. This place rocks, just check out all the amusing stuff to do in close proximity to Farmington River Reservoir. A quick trip to Bradley Brook next to Farmington River Reservoir is a brilliant idea, and while you're here you must pop by Zwick Point.
