     One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Falls Pond is Eden Hill, and a picturesque lake like Hedmons Pond is a glorious location to have a look at. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area near Falls Pond has to offer. If you come at the right time of year, Norwalk River offers some delightful whitewater, and Falls Pond is not far at all from Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk. Falls Pond is a rather wet place generally  
   with a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Thunder Ridge is in close proximity to Falls Pond.
Stay the night at Kettletown State Park; if you need a place to stay Days Inn Bethel - Danbury is a tremendous choice. A day on the slopes of Woodbury is just what you need, and do stop at South Pond, it's a gorgeous lake.
 
               Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend East Aspetuck River, and if you feel like a little side spree, try Pleasant Valley.
This lake is so wonderful. Mountain Workshop is a glorious campground nearby, and pop by nearby Lyons Swamp. This lake is so wonderful. Stony Hill Inn is a brilliant site to get some rest, and Collis P. Huntington State Park is a good location. All through the summertime months here at Falls Pond, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Falls Pond.

Ella Fohs Camp Pond

I attended Ella Fohs as a camper and a counselor.  The time was early 1950s - 1955...I was at the camp from 1963-1969. It shaped my childhood. My mother was there when she was a kid too. I found her name carved into one of the bunks on the rafters: Sydell Freiman 1949! Shame it's not used anymore for innercity poor kids, like we were. Ellen Knebel...I'm sad to hear that the camp itself is not there any more. I worked there in 69-73...I began working on ''the senior side'' and we livrf in ''the mansion'' for one summer. ...There was a house at the middle of the camp itself where the camp director lived. Is it still there??...

we stayed one night. there is a camp store and concession. lake for swimming and fishing. you can rent a canoe but it was 50 a day.sites are clean but not very private. bathrooms with showers were clean. Very family oriented kids bikes ect. quiet rule was respected by all young and old. we had a wonderful time. small town not far for pizza if needed...
