This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Shepaug River is so much fun, and a tour to Black Rock State Park revives the soul. During the summertime months highs here at Engleke Pond get into the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and winter       nights come with lows in the 10's to Engleke Pond. There's so much to do here at Engleke Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Black Rock State Park is a perfect place for that; a day on the slopes of Woodbury is just what you need. This lake is so wonderful. Bantam River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the Mattatuck Trail. Engleke Pond is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall;                  all through June this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. On a good day you can take a look at Cedar Swamp, a swamp in the neighborhood of Engleke Pond, and if you've had enough of Engleke Pond, Reichenback Pond is nearby. Be careful coming to Engleke Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. Golf can be played at Pomperaug Golf Club, and going for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail is always a fine adventure. Tylers Cove is near Engleke Pond and is a fine site to stop at; if you need a place to stay Hampton Inn Waterbury is a nice choice. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Engleke Pond. Bald Hill is easy to spot from Engleke Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Crowne Plaza Hotel SOUTHBURY. Take a side visit to Harvey Brook, and at Engleke Pond you always meet someone from Torrington. This lake is so wonderful.
