On a great day at Enders Pond you can take a hike along the Washington Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Hammonasset Beach State Park is a pleasant spot to camp. This lake is so wonderful. Tower Inn and Suites is a perfect site to get some rest, and if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Jacobs Public Beach. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is fine here at Enders Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mattabesset Trail, and why not

| | head up to Powder Ridge and strap some skis to your feet. Summertime highs at Enders Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Enders Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. Pond is a close by lake. Going for a hike along the West Woods Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and playing golf is lots of fun at Guilford Lakes Golf Course. Here at Enders Pond there are plenty of people
from New Haven-Milford. Enders Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; through the month of April you get the most rain around here while February is ordinarily the driest month. Any time is a tremendous time at Enders
Pond if you fancy the outdoors. Chatfield Hollow State Park is a great place, and one of the dominant marks of the surroundings of Enders Pond is Hungry Hill. A lake close by is Thirsty Lake; a tremendous close by hotel is Rodeway
Inn Branford. This place is unbeatable, just check out all the cool stuff to do near Enders Pond. Chestnut Branch is a pleasant location to stop by; swamps don’t sound that good but Towner Swamp next to Enders Pond is reasonably
good. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hammonasset River, and Riverdale Camp Sites is a wonderful campground nearby.

Maltby Lakes are made up of three lakes located off of Route 34 in West Haven. The permit also gives you access to Lake Saltonstall and Lake Chamberlain for fishing. Lake Chamberlain
 | 19 miles away Access only with Regional Water Authority permit (25$/year). Off Rt. 69, turn down Morris Road at Bethany/Woodbridge border. Left at stopsign onto dirt road, second gated entrance on right. Fishing, hiking/running, horseback riding. Good sized lake for the area, however boating is strictly forbidden. Gorgeous, peaceful surroundings (no houses), and wildlife abounds. The deer often tolerate people closeby. The fishing can be good for the experienced bass fisherman willing to hike around to the various small, scattered areas where casting is possible. These spots are often choked with brush so accurate casting, texas-rigged soft plastic baits, and at least 8lb test line are a must. I've caught a few 4-5lb bass and some good sized pickerel.... |
