with much rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Shepaug River; during your trip here you'll meet some folks from
Torrington for sure. This lake is so wonderful. The Mattatuck Trail offers hiking at its best, and Mt. Tom State Park is a delightful spot to stretch your legs a bit. All the outdoors exciting stuff near Emmons Pond will keep you
coming back over and over. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River, and not far from Emmons Pond you'll find Bantam Lake which is a lovely lake. Camping is available
at Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds, and swamps don’t sound that great but No Mans Land Swamp next to Emmons Pond is pretty great. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Emmons Pond rules! The skiing at Woodbury is tremendous; Emmons
Pond is right by the Mattatuck Trail. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Mohawk Mountain. After a long day outdoors Days Inn - Torrington is a great location to spend a night or two; from Emmons Pond you acquire a wonderful view of Little Mount Tom.
