If you like lakes and you're in this part of Connecticut you can check out Emmons Pond. This lake is so wonderful. On a magnificent day you can check out No Mans Land Swamp, a swamp right next door to Emmons Pond, and the slopes of Woodbury are so inviting nobody can resist. Not far from Emmons Pond you obtain some great water scenery at Jones Pond Dam, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from Torrington for sure. Camping at Cozy Hills Campground

| | is always a pleasant experience, and Mt. Tom State Park is worth stopping at. On a great day at Emmons Pond you can take a hike along the Mattatuck Trail, and Days Inn - Torrington is a perfect spot to get some rest. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Emmons Pond. Nearby lakes? Sure, Mount Tom Pond is near Emmons Pond, and there's whitewater on Bantam River for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. | |

If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Stonybrook Golf Course is in the vicinity; swing by Bizell Brook it's a wonderful location to check out. Beaches are great; and Litchfield Town Beach in the vicinity of Emmons
Pond is no exception, and what would winter be without some skiing at Mohawk Mountain. This is a glorious region for folks who like lakes. Jones Pond is a lake close at hand; if you need a site to stay Tollgate Hill Inn is a fine
choice. Be careful coming to Emmons Pond, you might not ever want to return home again. If you came to camp Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds is a magnificent place to do that; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Appalachian
National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Shepaug River near Emmons Pond; close by you come across the Mattatuck Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. The high level of rainfall makes Emmons Pond
a rather wet site; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February. For the period of the days of summer at Emmons Pond highs are usually in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures
drop down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Emmons Pond. You get a great sight of Little Mount Tom from Emmons Pond; a splendid beach nearby is Morris Town Beach.
