Camping at American Legion State Forest is always a glorious experience, and Stratton Brook State Park is a wonderful place any time of year. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Link Trail, and there's whitewater on Hubbard River for all you adrenaline kick people. Throughout the summer months at Emmons Pond highs are regularly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's

| | while the cold winter nights at Emmons Pond are in the 10's. After a long day outdoors Simsbury 1820 House is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Emmons Pond. Do stop by Degano Pond right next door to Emmons Pond, it's a pretty lake, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Ponds right next door to Emmons Pond is a good place to check out, and get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Farmington River. Emmons Pond is a relatively wet place mostly with a good deal of precipitation; of all the months
in a year August is the one with the most rain; January meanwhile is the driest month. There's great hiking along the County Road Trail; Emmons Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Prospect Mountain Campground is a wonderful local campground.
