Ely Pond is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. Summer at Ely Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. During the winter highs are commonly in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Ely Pond. This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Ski Sundown. You don't have to go far from Ely Pond to enjoy Newton Brainard Forest; there is a fine hiking

| | trail nearby called the Mattabesset Trail.
A lake nearby is Lake Erie; the sight of charming Avon Mountain is wonderful. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. Nod Brook is a pleasant spot to stop at; there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Farmington River - Collinsville. Acres Campground is a great location for that, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Metacomet Trail.
The Tunxis Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close to Ely Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for
everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Farmington River. Stay the night at Camp Eagle Feather, and Blue Fox Run Golf Course is a good golf course close by. This lake is so wonderful. You unquestionably should stop at Talcott
Mountain State Park while you're here at Ely Pond, and people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford love to come here.
After a long day outdoors Residence Inn By Marriott Hartford Avon is a great spot to spend a night or two,
and swamps are out of the ordinary places and Hart Meadow near Ely Pond is no exception. Talcott Reservoir Diversion Dike is a wonderful spot right next door to Ely Pond, and Avon Old Farms is a tremendous site to get some rest. This
lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Mount Southington nearby, as expected you could also stop at Hartford Reservoir Number 1 since you're here; it's not far at all.
Ely Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is May; the driest month is February.
