Lakes are magnificent; Merimere Reservoir is a lake that's right next door to Elmere Reservoir. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. This is a popular location for folks from New Haven-Milford, and if you need a location to stay Red Carpet Inn and Suites Meriden is a nice choice. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Hog Swamp is right nearby, and       why not camp at Camp Eagle Feather since you're here at Elmere Reservoir. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Elmere Reservoir has it all. A tremendous nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MERIDEN, and Cathole Mountain is clearly visible from Elmere Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Elmere Reservoir to see the water at Elmere Reservoir Dam, and if you want to hit the beach, Dossin Park Beach                  is close at hand. What would winter be without some skiing at Mount Southington; get drenched paddling on Farmington River - Collinsville. Elmere Reservoir is a wet site that gets a lot of precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. The Hanging Hills casts its shadow over Elmere Reservoir, and going for a hike along the Mattabesset Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Wharton Brook State Park is both wonderful and lovely, and it's near Elmere Reservoir, and Cathole Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth going to. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Powder Ridge are so inviting noone can resist; soar down the rapids of Roaring Brook River in a kayak. If you came for an overnight stay Little City Campground is a great spot to camp, and since you're here and you like golf, you can pop by Hunter Memorial Golf Course. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Elmere Reservoir while night lows are frequently in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Elmere Reservoir.
