For the duration of the summertime highs here at Echo Lake reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are generally in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Echo Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Really great skiing awaits you at Mount Southington, and hiking is a popular       thing to do around Echo Lake; Mattatuck Trail is a magnificent local trail. Now, you may believe that's loads but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Echo Lake. Echo Lake Dam is a location that is near Echo Lake, and while you're here, you could also check out striking Echo Lake. Echo Lake is a relatively wet place regularly with a great deal of rainfall; all through June this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.                  Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Shepaug River. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Naugatuck Trail, and if you need a place to stay Courtyard Waterbury Downtown is a good choice. Here at Echo Lake there are plenty of folks from Torrington, and dry warm beds await you at Hampton Inn Waterbury. If you came to camp Black Rock State Park is a perfect site to do that, and Pin Shop Pond is a nearby lake that you could check out. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Nichols Hill can be seen from Echo Lake. There's so much to do here at Echo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Branchbrook Campground is a pleasant place for that.
