This lake is so wonderful. Echo Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Branchbrook Campground is a good location to camp nearby, and the wonderful people of Torrington like to hang out nearby. Echo Lake gets much water; through the month of June you get the most rain around here while February is frequently the driest month. You'll come across a beautiful lake called Heminway Pond                  near Echo Lake, and what would winter be without some skiing at Woodbury. After a long day outdoors Courtyard Waterbury Downtown is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is nice on Bantam River. Summertime highs at Echo Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Echo Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Echo Lake. Paddling on Shepaug River is so much fun. Good hiking is available along the Naugatuck Trail; a nice nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Waterbury. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Echo Lake.
