Places like Sherwood Island State Park are good to stop by, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Black Rock Inn is a wonderful site to spend a night or two. On a gorgeous day you can stop at Pleasure Beach in the neighborhood of Easton Reservoir, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Norwalk River. The summit of Chestnut
Hill can be spotted from Easton Reservoir; if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Bridgeport, Ct is a nice choice.
Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Easton Reservoir. Twin Links at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course is a pleasant golf course nearby, and an out of the ordinary thing to pop by in close proximity to Easton Reservoir is Easton Reservoir Dam. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Easton Reservoir

is right by the Naugatuck Trail. A day at gorgeous Seaside Beach next to Easton Reservoir is a wonderful thing to do; there are plenty of people from Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk here.
This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Canoe Brook, and there are other sites here than Easton Reservoir, for example Canoe Brook Lake. A magnificent place to camp here at Easton Reservoir is Mountain Workshop. Lakes? Sure, Canoe Brook Lake is around here. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Easton Reservoir dip into the 10's.
Easton Reservoir gets a lot of water; May is when you get the most rain here, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Woodbury is just what you need, and camping is available at National Computer Camps.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Pleasure Beach
Uh. Pleasure beach bridge burned 10 years ago and you can't get out there. It is basically abandonded buildings and trash. Was this auto generated or something? Tongue point is always nice to visit? Tongue point is owned by the electric utility and is the site of a generating plant, besides being off limits it is ugly (except for the lighthouse). Maltby Lake
19 miles away
Call the Regional Water Authority and ask for Anita in Recreation, 203-624-6671.  She'll set you up with a permit. Or you can go online, www.rwater.com.  Maltby Lakes are made up of three lakes located off of Route 34 in West Haven.  The permit also gives you access to Lake Saltonstall and Lake Chamberlain for fishing.  There is much more than fishing but you can start off there. Good Luck!...I am looking for directions, so I can go fishing my girl says it is a beautiful spot....

Konolds Pond
19 miles away
This description is garbage! I live across the street from Konolds Pond and there is NO skiing anywhere nearby and what does Fire Island out on Long Island, NY have to do with Konolds Pond????...

Lake Chamberlain
19 miles away
Access only with Regional Water Authority permit (25$/year). Off Rt. 69, turn down Morris Road at Bethany/Woodbridge border. Left at stopsign onto dirt road, second gated entrance on right. Fishing, hiking/running, horseback riding.
Good sized lake for the area, however boating is strictly forbidden. Gorgeous, peaceful surroundings (no houses), and wildlife abounds. The deer often tolerate people closeby. The fishing can be good for the experienced bass fisherman willing to hike around to the various small, scattered areas where casting is possible. These spots are often choked with brush so accurate casting, texas-rigged soft plastic baits, and at least 8lb test line are a must. I've caught a few 4-5lb bass and some good sized pickerel....

Mount Southington
28 miles away
Night and day we are the one. Mt. Southington is Connecticut's convenient location for both skiing and snowboarding for all ages and for all ability-levels. Novice trails that gently glide down sloping hillsides as well as down-hill runs that challenge and excite are just some features of this popular ski area....
