It's always fun to stop by Dyke Pond. Golden Acres Campground is a magnificent local campground; close by you'll hit upon a wooded area called Newton Brainard Forest. There's tremendous hiking along the Tunxis Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Farmington River - Collinsville. Dyke Pond gets a large amount of water; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February.

| | lake is so wonderful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Mount Southington, and do stop by Talcott Dam while you're here. Talcott Mountain State Park is a great site to take a look at, and a good nearby hotel is Avon Old Farms. High temperatures at Dyke Pond during the long summer days are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows at Dyke Pond during the winter commonly dip into the 10's.

You could also stop at Woodridge Lake since you're here at Dyke Pond; it's close by; for you golfers we recommend nearby Buena Vista Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come
on down to Dyke Pond. Why not camp at Camp Eagle Feather while you're here at Dyke Pond, and a good swamp close to Dyke Pond is Hart Meadow.
This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Powder Ridge is a nice site to do that; a good
spot for whitewater paddling is Farmington River. At Dyke Pond you can catch a sight of Burnt Hill; don't leave Dyke Pond without first going for a hike along the Metacomet Trail. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the
cool stuff at Dyke Pond. This is a popular place for people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, and if you need a place to stay Homewood Suites Farmington is a great choice.
Dyke Pond is not the only location nearby, Hartford Reservoir Number 1 is a nearby lake, and great hiking is available along the Mattabesset Trail.
