If you are in this part of Connecticut make sure to pay a visit to Duck Pond. This is no spot for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A great place like Mt. Tom State Park close to Duck Pond is too brilliant to leave out; a brilliant vista of pretty Apple Hill is available. This lake is so wonderful. | | do. Bantam Project Dam is a site that is right next door to Duck Pond; going for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Duck Pond gets a lot of water; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is ordinarily the driest month. Looking Glass Hill Campgrounds is a pleasant place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Tollgate Hill Inn, and camping at Cozy Hills Campground is always a wonderful experience. All through the warmest
time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Duck Pond, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Duck Pond. Not far
from Duck Pond you come across Keeler Cove, needless to say you could also go to Little Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Duck Pond is not far at all from Torrington, and perhaps you're looking
for nearby lakes? Sure, Cranberry Pond is just a very short distance away. If you need a place to stay Days Inn - Torrington is a magnificent choice, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend
Shepaug River. Don't miss out on a wonderful swamp; Bantam Swamp is right here at Duck Pond; there are some glorious whitewater spots on Bantam River. Butternut Brook is a glorious location to check out. The Mattatuck Trail is
a great hiking trail in close proximity to Duck Pond, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Woodbury. Enjoy a round of golf at Stonybrook Golf Course not far from Duck Pond, and Morris Town Beach is a beach close by that you can have a look at.
