Butternut Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at, and a pleasant beach nearby is Morris Town Beach. This lake is so wonderful. Near Duck Pond you locate the Mattatuck Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail, and Litchfield Town Beach is a beach close by that you can have a look at. There are delightful places to discover along the Naugatuck Trail. There's so much to do here at Duck Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Looking

| | Glass Hill Campgrounds is a nice place for that. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Shepaug River. You'll meet a lot of people from Torrington here, and if you've had enough of Duck Pond, Little Pond is nearby. The skiing at Woodbury is good, and a golf course close by is Stonybrook Golf Course. is when you get the most rain here, and February is the month with the least moisture. And if that's not sufficient, there's plenty more to do near Duck Pond. Going for a hike on the Mattatuck Trail is always a glorious adventure,
and why not pop by Keeler Cove also if you're here. Summertime highs at Duck Pond generally tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in
the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Duck Pond temperatures sink to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Duck Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Cozy Hills Campground is a splendid local campground,
and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mohawk Mountain is quite near. If only every spot had this much outdoors cool things, what a great planet it would be. Tollgate Hill Inn is a pleasant place to get some rest, and do explore
Bantam Project Dam if you're here. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bantam River, and perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Cranberry Pond is just a
very short distance away. A trip to Mt. Tom State Park when you're here at Duck Pond is never a bad idea; a glorious swamp near Duck Pond is Bantam Swamp.
