The beauty of Douglas Pond attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. Douglas Pond is a good site to visit for more than one day, Natures Campsites is a good site to camp nearby; swamps like Cedar Swamp are fun to go to. There's whitewater on Quinebaug River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and a visit to Quinebaug & Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor is worthwhile. For the period of the warm months here at Douglas

| | Pond, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Douglas Pond sink into the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Douglas Pond a wet site; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is February. | |

Douglas Pond Dam has great water scenery and it's in close proximity to Douglas Pond, and from Douglas Pond you get a fine vista of Bare Hill. Hiking along the Narragansett Trail is perfect fun; if you're here why not stop at Hell
Hollow. A delightful nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Plainfield, Ct, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Border Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. You'll discover a beautiful
lake called Mason-Gray Pond near Douglas Pond, and obviously Great Meadow Brook flows through this region. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Douglas Pond. You'll need more than
a day to discover everything Douglas Pond has to offer, you can camp at Countryside Campground; if you're here, you could also explore beautiful Hell Hollow Pond. Quality Inn Plainfield is a magnificent spot to get some rest; Hopeville
Pond State Park is a good spot to check out on a lovely day. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of folks from Willimantic here at Douglas Pond, and going for a hike along the Narragansett Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
