At Doolittle Lake during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and the night is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Doolittle Lake. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go       whitewater paddling on Sandy Brook River, and lots of folks from Torrington come here. Good hiking is available along the Wild Cat Trail; dry warm beds await you at Blackberry River Inn. This lake is so wonderful. You get a nice panorama of Brown Mountain from Doolittle Lake, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Ski Sundown if you're here. Laurel Crest Campground is a great local campground, and if you need a spot to stay Quality Inn                  & Suites is a brilliant choice. This place is great, just check out all the exciting things to do close to Doolittle Lake. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Elbow Trail. A spree to Haystack Mountain State Park invigorates the spirit; whitewater paddling is splendid on Farmington River - West Branch. So many cool things to do at Doolittle Lake, so little time. Why not camp at Lone Oak Camp Sites while you're here at Doolittle Lake, and unsurprisingly, this is a pleasant neighborhood for people who like lakes, Benedict Pond is a lake in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are splendid; Pond Hill Pond is a lake that's right next door to Doolittle Lake, and you can never get enough of the delightful skiing at Ski Butternut.
