Swamps like Balsam Fir Swamp are fun to stop at; Tollgate Hill Inn is a good place to get some rest. hit Shepaug River. A glorious place to camp here at Dog Pond is Valley In The Pines Campground, and at Woodridge Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Dog Pond there are some attention-grabbing things to see. High temperatures at Dog
Pond through the months of summer are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Dog Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Dog Pond is perfect
enough to spend more than a day at, Hemlock Hill Camp Resort and Co-operative is a perfect local campground; why not take a little visit to West Side Pond Brook since you're here. The skiing at Mohawk Mountain is great, and this is
a popular spot for folks from Torrington. A day at Litchfield Town Beach in the neighborhood of Dog Pond is time well spent. Dog Pond gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest of the
months is February. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Mattatuck Trail, and soar down the rapids of Bantam River in a kayak.
