     A good nearby hotel is Manchester Inn; a gorgeous lake like Buckingham Reservoir is a nice spot to check out. Super 8 Motel - Manchester, CT is a brilliant place to get some rest, and hey, Gotta ski right? Powder Ridge is a great place to do that. There are plenty of people from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford here at Diamond Lake, and since you're here and you like golf, you can go to Blackledge Country Club. Gay City State Park is a scenic spot any  
   time of year, and you'll hit upon a wonderful lake called Shoddy Mill Pond.
Throughout the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Diamond Lake. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Diamond Lake all through the wintertime generally drop into the 10's. Drift down the rapids of Salmon River in a kayak. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Diamond Lake
 
               has to offer, you can camp at Nelson's Family Campground. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of John Tom Hill from Diamond Lake is picturesque; you don’t have to go far from Diamond Lake to catch a sight of the water at Buckingham Reservoir Dam.
If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Diamond Lake. Diamond Lake usually gets lots of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is May, and July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Mattabesset Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity; why not a little side visit to Flat Brook.
Be careful coming to Diamond Lake, you might not ever wanna go home again. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Roaring Brook River. There's so much to do here at Diamond Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Markham Meadows Campgrounds is a brilliant location for that.

This is a nice little lake for fishing. Use minnows and you'll catch a lot of pickerel and bass. Worms bring in copious amounts of bluegill. It's a C/R lake....

Salmon River
THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
