     After a long day outdoors Executive Inn and Suites Old Saybrook is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two, and nearby you hit upon nice spots like Calves Island Bar. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Salmon River, also Obed Heights Reservoir Dam is worth stopping at if you're here. There are some brilliant whitewater spots on Hammonasset River. This lake is so wonderful. If you're looking for a beach in close proximity to Deitch Pond, we recommend Harveys Beach,  
   and if you've had enough of Deitch Pond, Obed Heights Reservoir is close by.
This lake is so wonderful. Deitch Pond is not the only location nearby, Cranberry Pond is a nearby lake; a pleasant swamp near Deitch Pond is Ely Meadow. The high level of precipitation makes Deitch Pond a rather wet place; most of the rain falls through May; the driest month of the year is February. If you're here at Deitch Pond, do take a spree to Ayers Point, and if you came to
 
               camp Devil's Hopyard State Park is a tremendous place to do that.
A great nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Old Saybrook. There's so much to do here at Deitch Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Wolf's Den Family Campground is a good spot for that. Just can't get enough of Deitch Pond. You should beyond doubt dedicate some time to Great Meadow if you're here at Deitch Pond, and some close by water includes Deep Creek. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Deitch Pond. One of the major traits of the surroundings of Deitch Pond is Cheney Hill, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Hillside Links Golf Course.
Summer brings highs in the 80's to Deitch Pond with night lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Deitch Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. You absolutely ought to pop by Selden Neck State Park while you're here at Deitch Pond; nothing beats kicking back at Great Hammock Beach.

I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow....
