Camping is available at Hammonasset Beach State Park, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Deer Lake; Washington Trail is a great local trail. Deer Lake gets much water; the month with most of the rain is April, and the driest of the months is February. Summer at Deer Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Deer Lake nighttime

| | low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. Madison Beach Hotel is a brilliant site to get some rest, and a great location to camp here at Deer Lake is Riverdale Camp Sites. That right there is lots already, but it goes on; Deer Lake has it all. You have to unquestionably explore lovely East Rive Beach since you're here at Deer Lake; a day on the slopes of Powder Ridge is just what you need. Foster Pond, and Hammonasset Beach is a stunning beach to go to. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Guilford Lakes Golf Course, and you can go for a hike on the Mattabesset Trail. This is no location for
people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. After a long day outdoors A Victorian Village Inn is a glorious spot to spend a night or two; a great site for whitewater paddling is Hammonasset River. This lake is so wonderful. Deer Lake
is in the vicinity of Deer Lake Dam which is a pretty location beyond doubt worth a visit; at Deer Lake you can see Buell Hill. Salmon River is a wonderful whitewater spot near Deer Lake. Good hiking is available along the West
Woods Trail; of course Chatfield Hollow Brook flows through this neighborhood. A tour to Chatfield Hollow State Park when you're here at Deer Lake is a fine idea; lakes are such calm spots, why not take a look at Schreeder Pond.
