At Deep Lake you always meet someone from Torrington, and why not head up to Mohawk Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. For the period of the summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Deep Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Deep Lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Deep Lake has to offer,

| | you can camp at Taconic State Park Rudd Pond, and going for a hike on the Northrop Trail is always a great adventure. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Housatonic River, and don't leave without going to Mt. Washington State Forest. Days Inn Great Barrington is a good place to get some rest, and Bird Peak is clearly visible from Deep Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area | |

near Deep Lake has to offer. Near Deep Lake you find the Appalachian National Scenic Trail which is a nice hiking trail; the Indian Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is fine at Catamount.
There's so much to do here at Deep Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Waubeeka is a good spot for that. Deep Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. On a wonderful day you can check out Mudge
Pond Town Beach right next door to Deep Lake, and Wononpakook Lake Dam has splendid water scenery. If you need a place to stay Sharon Motor Lodge is a great choice, and possibly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Ore Hill Pond
is just a very short distance away. This is a great region for folks who like lakes. Taylor Pond is a lake in the neighborhood, and it's a good idea to go to Beeslick Brook. An average amount of rain falls at Deep Lake; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest.
