If you came to camp Devil's Hopyard State Park is a good site to do that, and dry warm beds await you at Manchester Inn. This lake is so wonderful. An interesting thing to stop at in the neighborhood of Day Pond is Pickerel Lake Dam. There's so much to do here at Day Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Markham Meadows Campgrounds is a great place for that. Through the summertime, highs usually are in the 80's at Day Pond. When the night sets in temperatures

| | fall down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Day Pond night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's. North Westchester Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore; Blackledge River is close to Day Pond and is always a delight to take a look at. outdoors Comfort Inn Old Saybrook is a nice spot to spend a night or two; when you're here it's always fun to pop by Devils Hopyard State Park. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Day Pond, you could also have a look at
lovely Pickerel Lake. You'll meet a lot of folks from Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford here, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Roaring Brook River. Not enough hours in a day
to enjoy this location. Golf can be played at Chanticlair Public Golf Course, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Salmon River.

Odetah Campground
 | 18 miles away I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow.... |
