Many people like to go to Cunningham Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Cunningham Pond without first going for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There's so much to do here at Cunningham Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Valley In The Pines Campground is a great spot for that. Johnson Hollow is a delightful spot to explore; Mohawk Mountain State Park is a pleasant site to stretch your legs a bit. And if that's not enough,

| | there's heaps more to do next to Cunningham Pond. Lakes? Sure, West Side Pond is close at hand. It's a great idea to stop at Bradford Brook, it's in close proximity to Cunningham Pond, and Mohawk Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby. This lake is so wonderful. to spend more than a day at, Housatonic Meadows State Park is a good local campground. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world it would be. There are other places here than Cunningham Pond, for
example Tyler Lake, and during your spree here you'll meet some folks from Torrington for sure. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Housatonic River, and why not head up to Ski Butternut and strap some skis to your feet. Cunningham
Pond is a wet site that gets a good deal of precipitation; most of the rain falls through August, and February is when it's the driest. Blackberry River Inn is a glorious site to get some rest; Bartholomew Hill is pretty and can
be seen from here. Through the warmest time of the year at Cunningham Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Cunningham Pond.
