The beauty of Crystal Lake attracts many people from all around. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Hillside Links Golf Course is a magnificent way to kill some time, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Salmon River. What a site this is for outdoors people. Swamps like Cedar Swamp near Crystal Lake make for brilliant places to stop at, and if you get bored of Crystal Lake you could also stop at nearby Pequot Swamp Pond. During

| | the warm days of summer at Crystal Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Crystal Lake are in the 10's. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Old Saybrook is a delightful choice, and Crystal Lake is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Wolf's Den Family Campground is a wonderful site to camp nearby. | |

Selden Neck State Park is a brilliant location to stretch your legs a bit, and some close by water includes Back River. You are right next door to Chapman Point since you're here at Crystal Lake; whitewater paddling is not for
everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Hammonasset River. A good beach near Crystal Lake is Chapman Strand, and you can take a little spree to Birch Millpond Dam if you're here at Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake beyond doubt
is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Cold Spring is a wonderful local attraction, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Chalker Beach. A fine nearby hotel is Old Saybrook - Days Inn; you can stay the
night at Devil's Hopyard State Park. The high level of rain makes Crystal Lake a quite wet location; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Lake Rockview; a good view of gorgeous Beacon Hill is available.

 | 14 miles away THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
