A splendid nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Old Saybrook, and brilliant water scenery is available at Obed Heights Reservoir Dam near Cranberry Pond. Just can't get enough of Cranberry Pond. There's so much to do here at Cranberry Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Devil's Hopyard State Park is a glorious spot for that, and a perfect spot for whitewater paddling is Hammonasset River. You definitely have to explore Selden Neck State Park if you're here at Cranberry Pond, and some nearby water includes Deep Creek. This lake is so wonderful. lake is so wonderful. Executive Inn and Suites Old Saybrook is a magnificent place to get some rest; Cheney Hill is clearly visible from Cranberry Pond. Great Hammock Beach is right next door to Cranberry Pond if you're in a beach
type of mood, and golf can be played at Hillside Links Golf Course. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Harveys Beach. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Cranberry Pond has to offer, you can camp at Wolf's Den Family Campground.
Get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Salmon River, and you'll locate a lovely lake called Obed Heights Reservoir. Cranberry Pond is a wet location that gets a good deal of rain; the month of May is the wettest
with most of the rain; February on the other hand is the driest. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Cranberry Pond. Take a look at close by Ely Meadow; if you're here you have to stop at Ayers Point.

Odetah Campground
 | 19 miles away I am staying at odatah camp ground as I write this thay have wi-fi which is great. This is our first time here and we love it. we will be comming back many more times. We are staying in a nice cabin, but thay have very good camp sites as well. are cabin has a fridge,doubble bed,three twin beds but the (twins are a little narrow). This morning we played horseshoes Yhe seasonal campers were very under standing of are unfamiliarity with the game and had a wonderful time.we then went swimming in the lake. that was great. we then went in the pool and the hottub. hottub was nice and big. we then played shuffleboard and went to a barbeque(exellent ribs)and listen to a very good band. All in one day. can't wait for tomorrow.... |
