Try Indiantown Brook. You'll hit upon a scenic lake called Cooks Pond near Cooks Pond, and there are some good whitewater spots on Quinebaug River. Do stop at Avery Pond next to Cooks Pond, it's a scenic lake; a fine place to camp here at Cooks Pond is Hidden Acres Family Campground. When you're here at Cooks Pond it's always fun to go to Stoddard Hill       State Park, and do take a hike on the Narragansett Trail. Throughout the summer months at Cooks Pond temperatures are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are generally in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Cooks Pond temperatures drop to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There's always Lake of Isles Dam to go to in close proximity to Cooks Pond, and don't miss out on                  a good swamp; Cedar Swamp is right here at Cooks Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at River Ridge Golf Course, and Ayer Hill is a peak you can observe from Cooks Pond. If you need a spot to stay Americinn - Griswold, Ct is a glorious choice, and Cooks Pond is not far at all from Norwich-New London. Cooks Pond is a wet place that gets a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November, and February is the month with the least moisture. Man, is there loads of amusing things to do close to Cooks Pond. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location.
