Nearby lakes? Sure, Number Two Pond is close to Cone Pond, and a glorious swamp near Cone Pond is Babcock Swamp. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Old Saybrook; get wet paddling on Roaring Brook River. Cone Pond gets a large amount of water; the month with most of the rain is May while July is generally the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
