Compensating Reservoir is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Compensating Reservoir is a wet spot that gets a great deal of rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is when it's the driest. What would winter be without some skiing at Ski Sundown, and do go to Lake Mcdonough, it's a lovely lake. Through the long summer days at Compensating Reservoir highs are generally in the 70's, and the night is fairly chillier
of course, mostly in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while Compensating Reservoir overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Farmington River - Riverton. This place, Compensating Reservoir, it just has so much outdoors cool stuff. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Farmington River; do take a hike on the

Why not take a refreshing hike along the Metacomet Trail, and after a long day outdoors Simsbury Inn is a fine site to spend a night or two.
