     Everybody close by loves skiing at Woodbury; Branchbrook Campground is a great campground nearby. All the outdoors enjoyable things near Colony Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly. Osbornedale State Park is a great site to take a look at on a delightful day; there are splendid locations to look at along the Regicides Trail. Going for a hike on the Naugatuck Trail is always a perfect adventure, and Colony Pond is right next door to Wildcat Gorge which  
   is beyond doubt worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Colony Pond without first going for a hike along the Quinnipiac Trail; as expected, this is a wonderful vicinity for people who like lakes, Spring Lake is a lake in the vicinity.
The slopes of Mount Southington are so inviting noone can resist; there are plenty of folks from New Haven-Milford here. Having a wonderful time at Colony Pond is easy. Why not spend some time golfing at a close
 
               by golf course like Woodhaven Country Club, and if you came for an overnight stay National Computer Camps is a pleasant place to camp. A delightful close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SHELTON-TRUMBULL, and there's always Kinneytown Dam to go to near Colony Pond.
Summertime highs at Colony Pond regularly tend to be in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Colony Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Hilton Garden Inn Shelton is a splendid choice, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Naugatuck River Reservoir. There are swamps here too; Grape Swamp is close by.
Castle Rock is clearly visible from Colony Pond, and getting to Beaver Brook from Colony Pond is easy. Colony Pond is a wet place that gets a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is the month with the least moisture.
