Not far from Collinsville Reservoir you obtain some delightful water scenery at Nepaug Dam. Barnes Hill can be observed from Collinsville Reservoir; some close by water includes Beckwith Brook. Residence Inn Hartford Avon is a delightful spot to get some rest, and a good place to camp here at Collinsville       Reservoir is American Legion State Forest. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Collinsville Reservoir. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Clarion Hotel Bristol, and Zwick Point is in the neighborhood and always great to stop at. There is a perfect hiking trail in the neighborhood of Collinsville Reservoir called the Mattatuck Trail, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Ski Sundown is quite near. Collinsville Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rainfall; through August this area sees the most rain, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
