Closes Pond is in close proximity to F W Perry Pond Dam which is a delightful place absolutely worth stopping at, and Rockefeller State Park is a good place to stretch your legs a bit. This lake is so wonderful. The good people of Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown like to hang out close by, and a glorious site to camp here at Closes Pond is Camp Echo Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Do explore Lake Mead near Closes Pond, it's a beautiful lake, and a great site

Closes Pond is a quite wet place frequently with much rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest. After a long day outdoors La Quinta Inn and Suites Armonk is a glorious place to spend a night or two; a gorgeous lake like F W Perry Pond is a good place to explore. All through the summer months at Closes Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's. | |

Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Closes Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Wilshire Pond Brook is a great local
stream, and playing golf is lots of fun at Golf Club of Purchase. The summit of Round Hill can be seen from Closes Pond; Closes Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Soundview Sports is a good local campground. Yeah,
come here to Closes Pond for a pleasant time. Dry warm beds await you at Doral Arrowwood Conference Resort; a day at Harbor Point Beach is time well spent.

Dixon Lake
 | 16 miles away ...ved in the three story pink house on chestnut ridge rd.back in the late sixties ,and every Christmas the people of the surrounding lk. There were none on the east side of the lake at the time. Well we would collect our Christmas trees around fifty or so and dig them into the ice about forty ft apart and make two rows . Then we would all set a time and light em,, and we would skate , fish ,whatever the lines of trees ran from the n.west dock to the east..the clam bakes were held at the other lk..haven just up the stream that ran along my house..After the dam broke from lk haven the water flooded down into our house..What a flood..seems after that we sold the house to a fireman ,,and then our course by accident the house burnt down ,,and I thought fireman were supposed to put out fires not start em .hello to all that still prevail on chestnut ridge. yea I also went to school with Henry Winkler.. And back then we used to trick or treat all the way down to route six..camp sycamore well I still have my green card with the red paper wonder if its still good..the camp was but a lake with a ... |
