If you are in Litchfield county it's always a good idea to stop by Childs Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Canaan Country Club not far from Childs Pond, and the snow is great at Ski Butternut. Have a good hiking adventure along the Elbow Trail. There's so much to do here at Childs Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Housatonic Meadows State Park is a nice place for that. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered

| | with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Housatonic River, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Childs Pond. On a gorgeous day you get a sight of Barrack Mountain from Childs Pond, and Dean Ravine is a perfect site to explore. to. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Childs Pond without first paying a visit to Great Falls, and since you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Torrington. Any time is a great time at Childs Pond if you have
a thing about the outdoors. The Cove is near Childs Pond and is a magnificent place to check out, and not far from Childs Pond you obtain some delightful water scenery at Camp Freedman Pond Dam. The warmest time of the year brings
highs in the 80's to Childs Pond, and the night is a bit colder of course, commonly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Childs Pond. While you're here
at Childs Pond you can take a hike along the Indian Trail, and why not head up to Mohawk Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. Lookout Point is an attention-grabbing spot to stop by while at Childs Pond, and a lake nearby is
Camp Freedman Pond. Housatonic Meadows State Park is both splendid and gorgeous, and it's close to Childs Pond, and if you came to camp Lone Oak Camp Sites is a perfect place to do that. Childs Pond commonly gets a large amount
of rain; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Blackberry River Inn, and swing by Hollenbeck River it's a great place to visit.
