Cheshire Reservoir is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Cheshire Reservoir Dam is worth stopping at if you're here, and don't leave Cheshire Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Quinnipiac Trail. Lakes are fine; West Brook Reservoir is a lake that's close to Cheshire Reservoir, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Powder Ridge. There's magnificent hiking along the Mattatuck Trail, and camping is available at Black
