     If you came for an overnight stay River Road Campground is a perfect site to camp; most likely you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Ortners Pond is just a very short distance away. At Chapmans Pond all through the days of summer highs are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 30's, and night lows through the wintertime for Chapmans Pond tend to be in the 10's. Chapmans  
   Pond is right by the Washington Trail, and don't leave Chapmans Pond without first checking out The Ledges. Riverdale Camp Sites is a great campground nearby, and if you're looking for a beach nearby we recommend Grove Beach.
This lake is so wonderful. Chapmans Pond is a wet place that gets much rain; April is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. A Victorian Village Inn is a glorious
 
               location to get some rest, and not far from Chapmans Pond you get some perfect water scenery at Lockwood Lake Dam.
While you're here at Chapmans Pond you can play some golf at Hillside Links Golf Course, and nothing beats kicking back at Clinton Beach. You simply ought to love Chapmans Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Waters Edge Resort and Spa, and the Mattabesset Trail offers hiking at its best. Take a side tour to Gatchen Creek, and hey, Gotta ski right? Powder Ridge is a wonderful place to do that.
This lake is so wonderful. You're probably addicted to lakes, Lockwood Lake is one of those nearby, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Hammonasset River. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff to do are in fact abundant here at Chapmans Pond. Why not take a refreshing hike along the West Woods Trail, and Hammonasset Beach State Park is a great spot. Murdock Hill is picturesque and can be distinguished from Chapmans Pond, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Salmon River.

THe fishermen aren't nice here, especially in the Fly fishing area, we caught a lot of heck from them last year. MAde the trip no fun, I won't return.
